Helping donkeys

          
We were delighted to see that this man's donkies still had the horse bits that we had given a year before and their mouthes had no sores
 
We were shocked to see the sores on cart donkeys' mouthes from being constantly jerked with wire instead of proper horse bits. We then started replacing the wire with eggbut bits (the most gentle of bits) and explained to the cart drivers that this was kinder to the donkies. It has been most gratifying to see that not only have the bits we've given stayed in use (and the donkeys all have healthy mouthes) but we saw one cart driver with mules who had bought his own eggbut bits! Very nice indeed.
